Clerk of Superior Court
No person, partnership, limited liability company or corporation may
conduct or transact business within the City limits under any assumed or
fictitious name until they file the business/trade name in the Superior
Court Clerk’s office in the county in which the business is conducted.
Applicants will need to have three originals of a trade form document
witnessed and notarized. This document will need to be created by the
applicant or an attorney and should include the name, location and nature
of the business, as well as signature of the owner/operator of the business.
A fee is associated with this process.
Georgia Secretary of State’s Corporation Division
Georgia corporations (profit and nonprofit), limited liability companies
and limited partnerships must file the business name with the Corporation
Division within 90 days of incorporation. Annual renewals must be made
between January 1 and April 1. A fee is associated with this process.
