Jake Hodesh is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Following graduation he moved to New Orleans and taught public school. He then accepted a position with Tulane University and managed a nation-wide real estate portfolio.
Following Hurricane Katrina, Jake was offered a position as a Policy Analyst at the White House in Washington working on detail for the United States Trade Representative. His work throughout the Western Hemisphere lead to many successful negotiations, of particular importance was his work related to both CAFTA and NAFTA.
Since moving to Savannah, he has worked primarily in community development. He and his wife Miriam have developed countless community centered programs and events under the moniker of New Moon of Savannah. New Moon developed The Savannah Market Bazaar, The Listening Room, redeSign Project, Summer Art Revue, The Savannah Paper Project, reCycles, Refuel Savannah, and Geekend.
Refuel Savannah was sold in the fall of 2009, and in early 2010, Jake co-founded Thinking Cap Inc. Thinking Cap Inc. is a Georgia based 501c3 that owns and operates Geekend, an annual technology conference.
In the spring of 2010, Jake was approached by the Creative Coast transition team and asked to come on board in a leadership role.
Jake likes to run, bike, and swim.
